Although Thor: The Dark World had a fairly good two-week run at the top, we all knew that it was short-lived with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on its way to theaters.
The sequel to last year's huge hit The Hunger Games took in $158 million, which makes it the biggest opening for a film in the month of November and the sixth biggest opening for a film overall (right behind The Dark Knight and above its predecessor by $6 million). Thor: The Dark World came in second with $14.1 million while The Best Man Holiday also slipped one position down to number three with $12.4 million. Vince Vaughn's Delivery Man debuted at number four with $7.9 million, and Free Birds hung in there dropping one spot to number five with $5.3 million.

Kellan Lutz Couldn’t Get as Big as Dwayne Johnson for ‘Hercules’
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Summit Entertainment, Action, Adventure, Celebrity Gossip, Upcoming Releases,
Kellan Lutz jokes he can't match rival Hercules Dwayne Johnson's physique.
The two actors play the Greek hero in separate movies, and the Hercules: The Legend Begins star joked his body could never match up to The Rock's.
"I wanted to get big, but then you have The Rock playing in the other Hercules. There's not enough 'extra-curricular' stuff for that," he told E! News.
The 28-year-old star has still put himself through a tough and ''rigorous'' training regime to getting into top shape for the film: "I wanted to put on weight. Renny [Harlin] the director, he just wanted me cut, so I had to get cut ... For me, it was very rigorous training. I had to learn how to ride a horse while wielding a sword and fighting mercenaries, as well as giving a badass speech and in the rain. And horses don't like the rain. It was very rigorous."
Kellan also revealed while he can't match the Hercules: The Thracian Wars star in terms of his physique, he's been glad to let himself indulge in some sweet treats on set: "If you've ever been on a movie set, there's food all the time. It's hard to stay healthy because I had milk chocolate bars three times a day, and I'd just eat the whole bar."
Naomie Harris: Bond Role Made Me Feel Beautiful

Naomie Harris says playing a Bond girl made her feel "darn good" about her looks.
The 37-year-old beauty, who played Eve Moneypenny in blockbuster hit Skyfall, admits playing a glamorous secret agent opposite Daniel Craig as James Bond helped alleviate her insecurities about her appearance. "I have to say, it does make me feel pretty darn good. When you get those moments when you feel, 'Oh God, I look like such a minger today' ... Then you think, 'I was cast a Bond girl, you can't really be that much of a minger, Naomie!'" she said.
While many actors play coy about Oscar buzz for their roles, the British actress candidly admitted she is excited about potential awards recognition for her portrayal of Nelson Mandela's ex-wife Winnie in new biopic Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom: "I'd be bloody over the moon! I'm not gonna be, 'Oh no, not an Oscar nomination!'"

Vanessa Hudgens Injured on ‘Gimme Shelter’ Set

Vanessa Hudgens popped the blood vessels in her face while filming a scene where she goes in labor.
The 24-year-old star, who plays a teenage mother Apple Bailey in her forthcoming film Gimmie Shelter, felt both physically and mentally exhausted when she was in character. "Probably the most physical and emotionally draining scene was my birthing scene. I've never shot a birthing scene and I ended up popping blood vessels in my face," she told E! News.
Vanessa formed a strong connection with her alter ego and even found herself feeling strange when Apple's baby was taken away from her after they completed scenes for the movie. "It's odd, it really is. I mean, I totally had a connection with my baby - my movie baby - and I just had so much love for her but afterwards they call 'cut' and take the baby away and I'm just left there hanging," she explained.
The brunette beauty piled on the pounds for the part, but found it harder to lose weight afterwards, despite doing plenty of exercise: "Getting it off was the more difficult part. It was a lot of exercise... Just doing a lot of cardio, a lot of yoga and just really anything active."

Jared Leto Uncertain of Oscar Success
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: FOCUS, Biopics, Drama, Period, Awards, Celebrity Gossip, New Releases,
Jared Leto doesn't believe "people like him" win Oscars.
The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman has been tipped for Academy Awards success for his role in Dallas Buyers Club - in which he plays a transsexual AIDS sufferer opposite Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner - but he doesn't expect to receive one of the prestigious accolades.
"It's nuts. They don't give Oscars to people like me!" he said.
The movie marks the 41-year-old star's first acting role since 2009's Mr. Nobody and Jared joked he was amazed he could still act. "I hadn't made a film in so long, I'm lucky I remembered how to act, to tell you the truth. I just dove in deep and did that best that I could," he said.
Despite his modesty, Jared is proud of the movie and the Oscar buzz it has generated: "It's surreal. It's so great. I'll tell you what - anybody that has anything negative to say about the process needs to see a doctor. There are much worse things to do than have your film supported and celebrated."
Quote of the Day: ‘Catching Fire’ Director on Jennifer Lawrence’s Running
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Lionsgate, Action, Adaptation, Science Fiction, Sequels, Celebrity Gossip, Filmmaking, New Releases,
"We worked on [how Jennifer Lawrence looks when she's running]. One of the first things we talked about when we started Catching Fire was that she said she always made this stupid face when she ran, and I had to specifically watch out to make sure she didn't make the stupid face when she ran. So I was always checking. I would tell her, 'You made the stupid face!'"
- The Hunger Games: Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence recalls working with Jennifer Lawrence on fixing how she looks when she's running in a scene.

Dakota Johnson burst into tears when she was told she had the role in Fifty Shades of Grey.
The actress, who has been cast as Anastasia Steele in the adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel, said she was thinking about sex the moment she was offered the life-changing part.
"The phone rang and I remember looking out of this apartment to an apartment across the street. And I was looking at all of these people in their windows. And I thought, 'How funny would it be if I were watching people having sex right now?' They [management] said 'You got the offer' and I couldn't speak. I was just so relieved. I was crying and crying. Water was literally squirting out of my eyes because I had been so stressed out. And there's this giant Doberman Pincher laying on the bed next to me. And he just slowly fell asleep. It was so special and [this dog] didn't give a f*** about me and what I was going through."
